The Tour
The walking tour will explore the Flushing Remonstrance, a protest that helped establish the First Amendment and will celebrate the contributions of social trailblazers, including underrecognized female leaders and African-American innovators who played a vital role in shaping US science and society. Additionally, the tour will uncover the area’s horticultural history, highlighting its rich botanical heritage while strolling through a vibrant tapestry of historic buildings and lively neighborhood streets. The tour will conclude in downtown Flushing, known as a mecca for Chinese cuisine.
